The “Hold Me Closer” singer took to both Instagram and Twitter to share a new edit of her dancing in her living room. She is wearing the same outfit that she wore on Tuesday night: a lacy see-through black bra over a bikini top and bright red bikini bottoms.
Britney Spears Proclaims She’s ‘Not Barbie’ As She Dances Barefoot In A See-Through Bra She’s Wearing Over Her Bikini
This video is similar to one that she posted on Instagram two days ago, except it is heavily filtered. Fans can clearly see her red bikini bottoms, although her bikini top is harder to spot underneath her lacy black bra top. The strings around her neck and back can clearly be seen poking out of the ends of the fabric as she spins around, letting her long blonde hair spay around her.
Although the “Toxic” singer previously mentioned that she stopped dancing barefoot after she cut her foot open on glass, she has decided to risk it again, ditching the black pointed boots she wore in her last video. At one point in the video, Britney lies face down on the floor as she raises her hips up into the air.
Britney set the music in this video to Chris Isaak’s “Blue Spanish Sky.” In the caption of this Instagram post, she wrote, “Barbie would say ‘horrific’ to no shoes 👠 but I’m not Barbie … I’m Maria River Red 🙊☝🏻😜 !!!!” She turned comments off for this Instagram video, much like she does for her other Instagram posts.
Fans aren’t sure what Maria River Red is supposed to mean. She changed the name in her bio to River Red last year and then changed it to “Maria River Red” earlier this summer. Unfortunately, fans are still not sure what the name is supposed to represent, although some of her followers have speculated that it’s her alter ego that comes out when she dances or her social media persona.
Britney Shared This Video On Twitter Too!

It seems that the 41-year-old pop star really liked this video, as she also shared it on Twitter. Although she usually only uses Twitter when she disables her Instagram account, it seems that she liked this video enough to post it twice! Britney uses the same caption for both posts.
“Keep killing it, queen,” one fan commented. “No shoes, no problem, Maria River Red? Sometimes the best way to ground yourself is to kick off the heels!” another follower exclaimed. “I love her but this is creeping me out,” a third fan chimed in. “But it’s a good, sexy, weird type of creepy. I love it,” another follower replied.
“We love you, Britney. Live your life as you want enough that you have given to the world with your music. Be Maria River Red or whatever you want to be,” another fan chimed in. “This is art,” another follower gushed. “Super sexy!!! We love you, Britney,” another fan shared, while another follower wrote, “I expect no less from a Sagittarius.”
“Yes, Britney, dance like there is no tomorrow. Losing a shoe didn’t stop Cinderella from becoming a Princess,” another fan shared. “You’re not Barbie. You’re our ICON,” another follower exclaimed. “Barefoot dancing for life. You go girl,” another fan shared. “Barbie has nothing on you, Queen,” another follower chimed in.
Unfortunately, there were some users who did not appreciate Britney’s dance or her style of clothing. “Please wear a pair of pants, a dress, or a skirt and pull it up above your lower extremities, this is unpleasant and unnecessary,” one user commented. “I think after years of being told what to do and existing under other people’s rules she is long done with having to live for others, don’t you?” another fan replied.
“Oh Britney, you are a mom and your children don’t need to see you dressed like this and posting on social media. You are very talented, beautiful, a great dancer but seriously think of your kids first and put some clothes on girl!” another user commented. “She’s not just a mom, she’s a human being and she can dress how she wants to. She doesn’t need to live to yours or anyone else’s standards,” another fan countered.
